Check out one of our upcoming Aviation Learning Labs designed to extend your Aviator’s learning. All are welcomed as participants will be grouped according to their experience. So whether they are already taking lessons, or just exploring something new, they will be challenged and have fun learning more about aviation through the lens of Science, Technology, Engineering & Math.
All Aviation Labs will be held at Innovative Aviation located at the Jimmy Stewart Airport in Indiana, Pennsylvania from 9am – 12pm. Check in begins at 8:45am.

Where are We? Navigation, Maps & GPS (October 7, 2023) – Program Fee: $12
Are you ready to embark on a thrilling journey through the world of aviation navigation, pilotage, and GPS technology? Join us in this half day Youth in Aviation course, where we’ll take to the skies and learn how pilots use navigation tools to chart their course, explore the impact of weather, and understand how technology such as GPS revolutionizes modern aviation.
This half day course will cover:
- Navigating the skies: Maps, charts, and compasses
- Learn how to read aviation charts
- Pilotage basics: Using visual landmarks
- What is GPS, and how does it work?
- Weather and its impact on aviation
Behind the Magic: Inside Aircraft Systems (November 11, 2023) – Program Fee: $12
Prepare to embark on a journey into the fascinating world of aircraft systems designed especially for curious young minds! In this interactive and hands-on course, aviators will explore the inner workings of aircraft engines and propulsion and learn about landing gear, flaps, and other crucial aircraft systems. By the end of this course, aviators will have a newfound appreciation for the world of flight, a deeper understanding of aircraft systems, and the inspiration to explore exciting careers in aviation.
This half day course will cover:
- Diverse world of aircraft, from biplanes to jumbo jets
- Explore the functions and features of different aircraft types
- Uncover the inner workings of aircraft systems, engines and propulsion
- Learn about landing gear, flaps, and other crucial systems
